what is it about guys and cars?
What is it about girls and tampons?
cars are guys tampons.
 I do not know what, but it might have something to do with the fact that they think they can control them :p
But then again, I am a girl and I might have the same "problem" with cars ;) Though it is more influenced by shape and colour than amount of horsepower...
They keep us from bleeding. Cars do not keep guys from bleeding, do they?! :)Quote:

What you have to look for is the ones that actually know how to drive.
Guys try to do this to impress women. Because some girls do like a fast car. But not that many.
and accelerating quickly and making 11ses doesnt mean your a good driver.
This is a good driver.

Definately - and preferably ones that are willing to learn you how to drive like that ;)Quote:

Cars are a necessity to many guys. They love them, many need them.
Same as a tampon. Or same as i dunno - your favorite wine or shoes or bags.
i mean, why do you like books?
Everyone has their own interests. And that's all there is to it.
I love cars, and i'm not a guy.
Ok I have to ask a question.
Whenever it snows up here I take out my 2 wheel drive and drive around neighborhoods and slide around corners. And I can entertain myself all day with this. And I am completely calm. I even carry out conversation with passengers while drifting around corners at 30 mph. One of my yuppie neighbors from cali told me to quit showing off.
Is this really showing off?
Im just entertaining myself.
^ Totally not showing off. It may appear to be but if you aren't then you aren't and people are just jealous, hehe
I mean, when i take my space craft out for a whiz around the galaxy i'm told that i'm showing off. But i'm just trying to be like the Jetsons :[
it's just jealousy, ignore it. When people want what they don't have they can have some nasty green monsters creeping out from under their nose. I know this, I'VE SEEN IT HAPPEN
Oh my gosh! Can you take me for a ride lima?
Ive always wanted to go to space!
And I think its the fact that I'm alone in a quiet neighborhood that proves the point. I feel no need to impress old ladies.
And californians dont know how to drive in snow.
Ok, might be a bit off topic here, but I just wanted to say which car I would really like to drive sometimes - and in what kind of situation :)

No need to worry about the fact that there are no other people, just enjoy it to the fullest while it lasts :D
I guess showing off would be if you would not do it if there was nobody to see it... But then again, it is a difficult thing to see when looking at it :D If they think it is showing off, just let them. You can not tell somebody to quit driving because it annoys you! Even if you were showing off, it does not really concern them, does it? Unless there is a chance you would ride into them... :pQuote:

My dad has a dodge challenger 440 magnum

and my first car i got last/this year is this
http://media.motortopia.com/files/52..._July-07_1.jpg
pretty excited i must say
I might be mistaken, but I think you know every episode by Top Gear by heart :p
And YES, that car is wicked!
I think I watch 3 episodes every week, I must have seen them all by now. I just never remember the brands, rather the colours :( I just can not get my head around the names and qualities :yawnb: Though they are quite important :D
And driving in snow... I did have snow on my examination day, but luckely it only lasted for 5 minutes and was quickly gone from the road. I have no experience in driving on snow or ice for that matter... And as I think how I drive on asphalt I might not really be ready for it either :p
LimaJean, I am officially jealous now :) Wonderful cars!
Is that first one black or purple?
And do they need much maintenance?
Lima, I think I've just fallen in love with you.
Your taste in beautiful cars is rare. And apparently runs in the family.
Sapphire - Those aren't my photos but the cars in it are identical so yes same colours. The dodge is purple, mine is black. Dad and me are working on my car this year.
Kevin - You are welcome to fall in love with me if and only if I can scoot you around in my space mobile whenever i choose.
Bumper cars are amazingly cool
And... we're back at the "what is it with guys and cars" :pQuote:

Yes indeed. My dream is to become the stig. Although I cannot live up to the legacy of Ben Collins.
Oh, and I cant open a beer bottle with my testies.:(
Absolutely! As long as I can pester you about your driving from the passenger seat. And you take me out in dads charger once in a while. :)
It drives amazingly. Incredibly smooth. But NOTHING has been done to it. Completely original. So it needs some touching up + we're re doing the inside, keeping it original but the upholstery needs to be replaced. But that's all superficial stuff which is easy to do.
Sounds grand :DQuote:

all we know, it that hes called kevinthediltz.
That works right?
Well, if Papayahed is around you might need to proof both ... if you are up to that it will work ;)
Now you only need an awesome driver suit and a wicked helmet and you're ready for action :p Though the stig does not really have such... just a driver suit and a helmet... Well, it might be a nice touch any ways :D
I dont know who would be willing to lay down their womanhood for me. And I might pop my eyes out trying to do that. And then break all my fingers.
But I can afford a white jumpsuit!!!!!
But not the simpson dimond helmet. Thats a little pricey.
all i know is i love my cars REALLY CHEAP.
Well, I take the program would pay for your work outfit - so just go crazy! :)Quote:

Even if that means not getting my dream car...
None of my close male friends have cars, none of them even claim to like cars, most of them are happily tottering around on broken down bicycles, harassing Copenhagen drivers. Even when I try, I cannot think of a male friend who ever talks about cars....
Car of my dreams is a Citroën Deux Cheveaux.
Once it's impossible to have one in Brasil (waaaaaay too expensive, besides, there's this ecological problem ...), I'd have a Vespa (motorcycle, we call it "lambreta", in Portuguese, which is a small moto ... 'Don't know if there's a different term in English for this).
[But, honestly, I don't think I'll ever wish to contribute to put more smoke in our already sufferable atmosphere ...]
[this weekend, I feel like "Jake" ...
therefore, so I sign,]
Jake
Lib, up here we would call a vesba a moped. Or a scooter.
Theyre fun to drive around.
Coming to think of it, none I know have either. And maybe one or two of my "further away" friends :p. I guess it is just easier to have a bike in the city :D No place to park the car any ways... Or money for patrol for that matter.Quote:

And Tim, I think that is an admirable view on it. I have to admit though - I like driving so much, I think I am able to just search for a job that would make a car obligatory... It is just so much fun!
I hope technology will soon find a way to make a car with zero pollution (utopia ;) )
BTW, we just say Vespa :) Brand is enough to get the message across :p
Well, that does depend on how that electricity is generated. ;)Quote:

But indeed, let us hope. And keep our minds open, who knows we'll just find a solution :thumbs_up
And such (less polution) can only make it more fun to drive a car :D
oh, and my science fiction doesn't have flying cars either ...
(cause I usually keep saying what my science fiction's about, once I'm publishing in Portuguese, in my blog, & therefore, not everyone can read it ...)
So, it's about a journey toward Jupiterian (name of Europa, Jupiter's moon), taking one of the magistrates to the crowning of the Princess of the House Rubia (Kings of Jupiter), during the period of the peace.
And I work without:
~ laser weaponry
~ light-speed/warp/jump
~ alien life
~ artificial gravity (except epicentric)
& I have no flying cars ... (However I LOVE _Back to the future_, _Blade Runner_ and _The Fifth Element_.)
And I take a great deal of care about using artificial intelligence ...
It's my "sci-fi". I try to make it the least "fi" as possible, so as to imagine what mankind might come to actually live, if we do conquer the Solar system  ...
Well, I have to say that I can not read Portuguese. That being said, if you would ever implement cars in your stories, not necessaraly flying ones, please - still allow the people to steer themselves! If you make it all automatic it might be much safer, but it would totally take the fun out of it.
I do not even think I would like an automatic (you know, not being allowed to change the gears manually). Not that I ever tried one... I know it might be better for the environment, as I am not the best gear shifter, but I imagine it would be so boring...
