Help
I remember most of a poem we learnt in grade 6, hoping there is someone out there who can fill in the gaps and give me the name of the poet:
I saw a witch last night, oh yes I did,
I saw the great black cloud in which she hid
Split open as the thunder roared and rolled,
And then she darted out while fold on fold
Of inky petticoat streamed out behind,
?............ I saw her wind
Her long thin arms around a coal-black cat
?....................**** her pointed hat
?........ and disappeared from sight,
Oh yes, I'm sure I saw a witch last night.

I tried searching for the first line: I saw a witch last night, oh yes I did,
but came up with just the litnet page!

Well, we just have to hope that the full quote can be traced to the original author.

thanks for replying, and yes I had exhausted all internet searches before I tried this forum

Well, since the internet is not helpful in your search, would it be possible for you to contact the school where you attended Grade 6, to see if someone there can shed light on your quest?
