Far from the Madding Crowd
Hardy's "Far from the Madding Crowd" is an excellent depiction of people in society. Each character represents the different personalities that exist today: Bathesheba Everdene being the vain and proud, Gabriel Oak being the hardworking and loyal, Francis Troy being the manipulator or the deceiver, Mr. Boldwood being the gullible and obsessed, and Fanny Robin being the naive. <br> Hardy's many Biblical allusions added a new dimension to the book, and his often profound comments show there is more to this book than just a simple love story.
