Remember the old song, "You Don't Have to Be a Star (to Be on My Show)" by Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis,Jr? What about that? What if you really could be a "star"? What kind of show would you star in?
There are scores of talk shows both on network and cable, in the non-primetime hours of daytime and late night. Suppose you were handed the reins of a talk show. What would the format be? Who would be guests on your premiere?
Old stand-up comics never die; they just go on to star in a sitcom. If you headlined a sit-com,what would be the premise?
Or maybe your life could form the basis of a reality show. Listen, I've seen a couple of these--apparently nobody's life is too dull or mundane for cable.
But let go of "reality" for a minute. (As we all know, whenever anybody tells us to "face reality" it means all the fun stops.) Let your imagination go free and tell us about the smash hit show of which YOU are the star.
On the other hand, maybe being a star isn't out of reach. Apparently the prerequisites for celebrity status aren't all that strict. I've seen photos on Page Six of the newspaper and interviews on syndicated shows like Entertainment Tonight! and I haven't the slightest clue as to who any of these people are.
Maybe you might tune in some night and find that you're already a star!
And we LitNutters can say we knew you when.
