Prompt: An Alien Love Story
I rediscovered an old work from a creative writing class. The prompt (Which I think our instructor took from the internet) was to write an alien love story. Go ahead and post your own versions, I want to see what other people do with this!

They were there for a very, very long time. Neither of them were sure exactly how long it was, but the two creatures were content to sit quietly, side by side, staring out of the window. There were no clouds, no air to block out the twinkling of the delicate stars.
Karn has visited several stars in his lifetime, but he still sometimes found himself surprised when he was reminded that they were nothing more than balls of flame. They seemed so alive, so beautiful, so-
"Karn?" Kila broke the silence first. Karn realized he had been holding his breath.
"Yeah?"
"Remember," She paused. "Remember when we were on Earth, remember the people there?"
He chuckled a little. "We were stuck there for a month. How could I not?"
"Remember how when they like each other, the humans would touch each other's mouths together?"
Karn didn't say anything for a short while. "Yeah."
There was a very, very long pause.
"Could we... Try that? Could we try a... a kiss?"
Karn found himself feeling extremely nervous. He wanted to dismiss the tension, make a joke about it or something, but he didn't want to hurt Kila's feelings.
Eventually, he spoke. "Okay." He agreed. "Let's try that."
Slowly, cautiously, awkwardly, they leaned in and kissed each other. It was a small kiss, and it only lasted a second.
Kila spat out a tuft of fur.
"That was disgusting!" She squeaked. "We are never doing that again!"
Karn nodded shyly in agreement. "Humans are weird."
"How do they stand that?"
"I don't know."
"We're not telling Dako about this."
"Agreed."
And the stars twinkled away, laughing at them.
