Zola, Balzac, Flaubert,
Hello everyone,
I am an obssessive book reader, and I love so much the classics. Currently, I am reading a lot from the French Literature, especially, Emile Zola, Balzac, and Flaubert. At present I am reading Balzac's novel "Pere Goriot", which is the first book of Balzac's I read. Last months I read some of Zola's novels, Flaubert, and Alfred de Musset's novels. Have you read any of those three great novelists?
Happy reading to all :)

I have just read Zola's 'L'Oeuvre'. I haven't 'been with classics' for quite some time. Although it is so known to me, I enjoyed remembering his style. Unlike most of his naturalistic novels, this one is utopian, depicting a possible 'happy society'.

I've read Old Goriot, but a long time time back. I thought it was really good. Madame Bovary was also magnificent. That's all I've read of Zola, Balzac, Flaubert.
Are you reading the original or the English translation?
