Hi, I'm reading hard times for my English class, and in the Intro. it says some of the alternative titles. They are Prove It, Stubborn THings, Two and Two Are Four, A Mere Question fo Figures, Something Tangible, A Matter fo Claculation, and Rust and Dust; Hard Times. The book I got this info out of is the Signet Classic 1997 Edition of Hard Times, it is in the Introduction by Frederick Busch. I hope this helps you out.

just want to ask you ppl whether you know of the alternative titles dickens have considered before deciding on Hard Times.. i've tried checking other sources but to no avail.
