Rest Assured
Rest Assured
I was ready to send out the hounds,
sniffing for you, howling for you,
But then I saw you standing in the words,
forming your sentence of confession,
And once again, I would need no apology,
only to see your name mingling with another,
Somehow was enough for me to dim the light,
pull up the covers and dream to your health.

Concise and taut, as is usual for you, but I didn't see how the name of another came into it or why, if it did, it changed the speaker's mood to a more forgiving one - unless we are meant to understand death in place of "health"?

pull up the covers and 'drink/toast' to your health? And although it is cliched, its meaning is doubled within the context of your poem.

Amp, it is so good to see your signature poetry in here again. You were missed by many.
