Where the Paths Cross
Restrict me from my sleep,
For what we say and seek,
In begging dreams we keep.
For far too weak are we,
To make our souls so see
That the earth belongs to thee.
You wrote our paths to cross
But we’ve left you at a loss.
So grant me precious sleep,
So on this cross, I may not weep.

I am not sure why you are switching between we and me. It could be confusing. The underlying religious message works for me, but I am also religious. The idea that in our dreams we are comforted, but not necessarily what God wants us to keep, is a struggle most humans deal with, as you already know.
This is a daily struggle for me and sometimes I just could care less that God exists. Anyway, this is not a place for a religious conversation.

Love it.
