My own take on the deadly seven. Written in Haiku form.



The Seven Deadly Sins


Wrath. The harsh blood-red
Of battle overflowing
Into ev’ryday

Into ev’ryday
To steal tranquillity with
Murderous delight

Pride. Arrogance hides
Behind soft lace curtains, then
Rears its ugly head

Rears its ugly head
And embraces those around
With malignant looks

Sloth. Indolent and
Languid, enveloped in a
Haze of inertia

Haze of inertia
Becomes all-encompassing
And forbids action

Greed. Life Awash with
Desires which control all life
- Render it worthless

- Render it worthless.
The need to fulfil them will
Break all barriers

Lust. Sensuously
Flitting from place to place, a
Search for the finest

Search for the finest
The world has to offer up,
Longing to have them

Envy. Mad with an
Insane wish to attain the
Unattainable

Unattainable,
Wallowing in self-pity
Covetous and scorned

Gluttony. Constant
State of selfish indulgence,
Wiping other thoughts

Wiping other thoughts,
Removing moderation
To extreme extents
