Lady Moon
Lady Moon
Your cold body
enthroned above
distant sphere
watching in
retracted silence
still, even in your
movements.
Ascending-
descending
wrapt within
skye blanket
a lone single
empty socket.
Pulse:
through my blood
mutely
you whisper
and laugh
in the back of
my skull.
So alone
your beauty
enshrined
your immortal death
undenied;
born again
only unto the
night!

when i read, i am inspired to write more. the skull reference was like the moon, and appropriate. the born again was good, as the moon rises. two thoughts i had: that the laughing may have a reason; and that the moon tries to stay aloof, but the sun reveals the lady's beauty.

This illustrative poem is startlingly touching; some staggering images have added splendor to the poem
