*apologizes to Sindhu (where are you?) in advance:
The Far Pavilions and Trade Winds, both by M.M. Kaye.
Endless Love by Scott Spencer.
Wuthering Heights.
had to google for her name; i remember liking Kathleen E. Woodwiss. have you tried her stuff?
and it didn't make me cry, but i really enjoyed Love Me, Marietta by Jennifer Wilde. :thumbs_up.
it comes after Love's Tender Fury (but i read LMM first). haven't read the third book - didn't realize there was one. it's been a couple decades.
here's a review on amazon.com re: LTF: :)
"I have never enjoyed romance novels at all and so it was extremely surprising to me that this book appealed to me greatly when I read it over 26 years ago. I was a teen-age girl when I first read it and this book really made an impact on me! I really liked the fact that the heroine of the story was so independent and full of life"
I think that the love story running through 'Cannery Row' is beautiful; it's a romantic book. Is that the 'Endless Love' where he sets fire to the house? Seen the film - god is that a weepy!
that's the one!
OK. Thank you guys so much! Any other suggestions are welcome!
Just realised - I completely spoiled 'Endless Love'. Sorry!
that info's in amazon's review. and happens like, immediately! don't sweat it.
Margaret Mitchell: Gone With the Wind!!!! U couldn't pick a better one! U just can't let go of the book. At least I got SO much into the book. And cry I did also, ven thou I don't usually cry over books.
One of my favorites is "Sense and Sensibility" by Jane Austen. It has a tear jerker ending!
