Help!

I am all over philosphy but I'm new in this world of rational. I have read parts of Plato's work but I think a little more modern philosophers would help me better. Anyway, I just need recommendations of memoirs or books for better understanding on the said subject and to feed my curiosity about...things. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! ;)

I am new here but I think I can help you in your pursuit of memoirs introducing philosophy. The late Bryan Magee wrote an autobiography called Confessions of a Philosopher. It's an account of his philosophical education. When I read it I painlessly learnt a lot about philosophy - especially Schopenhauer - whilst being entertained by Magee's own discoveries. He's good at communicating complex ideas and he presented philosophy programmes on the BBC, which I watched, though I was only about 9 years old at the time. I don't think I learnt anything; but I went on to study scholastic philosophy myself ten years later.

I am a new one user for portrait artists and i want to know how could i take a picure in a group.
i am trying it from many days if any person can help me then please let me know........

Hi there Greenfrogsplat. If you're looking for good introductions to philosophy you should read, and indeed have on your shelf 'History of Western Philosophy' by Bertrand Russell. I think it's a MUST HAVE book for getting to grips with the subject, as is his 'The Problems of Philosophy'. There are of course many good introductory textbooks out there, But 'The History of Western Philosophy' I believe stands head and shoulders above the rest. I think if you were to conduct a poll on a philosophy forum this book would without doubt get the most votes. Good luck.
