I really liked Slaughterhouse 5. I think it was the escapism that the protagonist used or developed. I also loved the essay collection 'Fates Worse Than Death'.
-
I've only read Slaughterhouse-5 and Player Piano, i think i prefer Player Piano which is his first novel i think.
-
I've only read Cat's Cradle, and I wasn't very impressed.
-
Timequake has always been my personal favorite. It was such a unique idea done in a very interesting way. That book changed my life. As you can see I even quote the book in my signature.
-
the last few pages of timequake were kilgore trout's finest moments--and certainly life altering for me as well. the rest of timequake didnt do it for me.
-
I've only read Slaughterhouse-Five and Cat's Cradle- I need to read breakfast of champions and welcome to the monkey house, soley because the title is superb.
-
galapagos (indescribable?), breakfast of champions (my introduction to vonnegut), and welcome to the monkey house (has some really poignant short stories- harrison bergeron, et al)
i love vonnegut's ability to blend the depressing reality of humanity and bittersweet hope.
