Hi,
Am thinking about getting into some of Oscar Wilde's novels, anyone have any recommendations of which i should start with? :)
There's only one: The Picture of Dorian Gray which may be the best place to start with Wilde, including, as it does, the famous preface that outlines much of his aesthetic beliefs. After that I would read the plays, The Importance of Being Earnest, Lady Windermere's Fan, A Woman of No Importance, etc...
So far, I have only read "The Picture of Dorian Gray" (wonderful novel) and I'm currently reading "The Importance of Being Earnest"...I love Wilde's wits and I'm looking forward to reading his other works. I suggest your reading "The Picture of Dorian Gray"first, you'll be fascinated by it!
Hi, reading Oscar Wilde is a brilliant way to spend your free time... Dorian Gray is a very enlightening story, but if you really want to read a masterpiece try The Happy Prince and other short stories.... these stories make even tough guys cry :bawling: ... good luck
