The Day Of The Towers
When The Towers Of Freedom Fall,
When The Fires Of Hell Burn,
When The Smoking Furls Of Death Enthralls,
A Frightened People Turn,
To Their Leader, To Their Country,
To Their Morals, To Their Lord,
To Find A Kind Of Answer,
To Hear A Healing Word...
When The Fires Have Been Extinquished
When The Choking Smoke Clears,
When The Rubble Has Been Swept Away,
When Love Has Dried The Tears,
A Proud Nation Shall Become,
A Nation Standing Tall,
Taller Than The Fallen Towers,
With Justice And Liberty For All! N. Lee Austin

Hi NLA, welcome to the forums. I hope you like it here. Frequently people post when they want comments on their poetry. I read your poem, and it has no feeling. I feel like I'm reading from an automaton. What you write about is a VERY emotional event. It ends with a cliche, and sort of just lack luster nationalism. It shows promise, but I think you can put so much more into this if you really want. Please don't be discouraged. I look forward to more.
