Even though she does not list it in her profile, I have it on excellent authority that yesterday was our dear Reisa's birthday. Well of course no one could have known, so no one put up a thread. I will start this thread to my dear friend and fine poet as a belated happy birthday wish.

I use my pen to paint a picture upon a canvas white as snow,
The shadows formed from letters that I type as I envision forms.
Should there be roses fair upon the cheeks, a wreath upon the brow?
Is the skin as soft as rose petals, or has it weathered constant storms?
What color is this maiden's hair, is it close-cropped or flowing long?
The eyes that meet mine from the page what color are those orbs?
The nose, is it Greek, Roman, Pug, or what? Which one belongs?
And those laughing lips and pearly teeth can keep a guy absorbed.
What costume shall my lady wear to set her off so perfectly?
Shall she wear a frilly frock, or would she feel more at home in jeans?
What colors would be best for her, the best that they should be?
Somewhere inside this sonnet lies your perfect picture, don't you see?
So look at it from time to time, and maybe you will see it one day.
But don't hold your breath, dear Riesa. Have a Happy Birthday!

and no more donkeys, please God. especially since I just noticed the little jack chasing around his sister for the first time today, he's only 4 months old, but I guess it's all ready time for the vet to get out his snippers. :eek:
