I havn't actually ever read any Dickens, but I have Oliver Twist, Bleak House, and Nicholas Nickelby. Which one would be the best to start with for a Dickens novice?

Oliver Twist maybe... I can't remember it, i read it ages ago... But it's probably very 'classic', representing the main Dickens' typical features...
Bleak House is too long. I enjoyed it but there were moments when I wanted to trhow it in the river while passing by it. The story is rather catchy but it was hard for me to remember who was doing what (yes my old brain finds it hard to remember characters until I'm well acquainted with them).
I haven't read NN so I don't know what to say about it ;)

Great Expectations? How ****ing boring jesus christ...i have a friend that threw that book off of a bridge after he was done studying it in Junior english class
I never liked a single book that I read in highschool, and I read some damn good ones. So I'm not going to take a highschool Junior's advice on what's a good read. My regards to your friend.
