The Alure of Henry Adams

It seems to me that the absence of commentary from fellow members may result from a seeming lackluster in this dynamo's name and reputation. I personally was unaware of his story and interest until I found his biography and Democracy: An American Novel. I highly recommend his writing to all those who care enough to see this comment, a derivative of his genius.

Many years ago I read the Autobiography of Henry Adams and was very impressed. He was quite insightful to his times, but I really enjoyed the writing style most of all.

thank you for the brief on Henry Adams. I found it interesting enough to do further research. What other types of writing do you have to your credit? I've been a world traveler, adventurer of the soul, and find this sort of stuff very interesting.

A fascinating character...With a certain spice of mystery about him and even a little intrigue during the Civil War struggle with the English cabinet's plotting to destroy the US and his postwar attempts to change the course of politics for the better during the Gilded Age. I read "Education" for the first time years ago and many times since. I'll have to read "Democracy" at length, though I had come across "Esther" before.
