I'm Off Me Tree

'I'm off me tree!' he claps with glee
and from his branch does launch
springs like a Jackinthebox without the box
quite high into the sky
but comes down hard like a big lump of lard
begins to sway as his legs give way
so lands halfarse on his arse
'Well this is a crime - I used to do it all the time!'
he picks himself up and wipes his butt
and limps like a blimp
to the nearest frog-filled log
rubs his tum, itches his bum
and kneels uncomfortably upon one knee
he catches a toad in Mixolydian mode
gobbles it quick as a stick
'Bedtime now,' numpty says with a frown
closes his eyes

and dies
