I love faeries too! I've loved them all my life. I went the Faerie Festival in Philadelphia in October. They're in my house hanging all over, on my bookshelves and all over my daughter's room. I met a couple of the big artists in Philadelphia including Brian Froud. My favorites are probably Amy Brown, Nene Thomas and John Thomas.

That's awesome Medusa! Did you get Froud to sign anything for you?

Faerie festival...I'd love to check that out!

I got a website address before for these GORGEOUS custom made faery wings. Unfortunately I've lost it or I'd link it It was at the Irish festival in L.A. last time I went (a couple years ago) I want to get my daughter a couple sets of faerie wings when she gets bigger

    hello everyone, I am Roma.
I'm still new here and trying to learn the system.
I absolutely love Fairies, Sprites and Pixies. My Living room and Dinning room are filled with them. I do my own cross-stitch and art work of them. Paint ceramics of them. And I added Sprites inside Three of the Novels I have written.

    Færies !

(Not an allusion to "The Fairly OddParents"... Just my delight to see others interested in them.)

I think Titania was my first favorite færie character, well, maybe Tinkerbell... But she was just a cartoon (lol). I still get a kick out of seeing Micky Rooney in the old film "A Mid-Night's Summer Dream". I've never read the story... I'll have to put it on my to-do list.

I love the complexity of Galadriel's character in The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion. The film version barely touches her character, but I always get shivers when she struggles with herself in the desire to have, or have not, Frodo's ring of power.

Somewhere around the house I have an old picture book of færies that I quite like... I'll have to revisit it and see who the various artists are and get back.

I like færie poetry and have written some poor examples. One of my poems alludes to luring mortals into the færie 'dimension' and goes something like this:

    The Hyper-Maze

    Winding unearthly
    Wood's path...aery labyrinth
    Faerie's deceit veiled

... a poor haiku but it was fun at the time.

Thank you for allowing me to contribute.

    Sincerely,

Hi everyone. Strangely enough, my favorite faeries, besides Tinkerbell (in book form), are not actually faeries. They're the Borrowers. They may not be actual mystical faeries, but they are tiny. They are also said to be descendents of the little people, so I think they qualify.
