be still my love - my life
the shadow nears (its
lightning arsenal firing)
why does it hunt you
why does it cry

as though its lucent sorrow could fall
into your dusky arms the way I do
one tender moment of each day
sand bound to stone

why does the scarred face of
this crumbling low not unnerve it

move on shadow, there is
nothing here for you

Note: The artwork is my first ever attempt at pastel. It's mixed with graphite and charcoal. Thankfully, my daughter is bringing me paints when she comes at the end of the month!
It's a drawing from one of my photos of a gravestone monument at Cimitaire Montmartre.

    Thanks Dark Muse. I've spent a lot of time in cemeteries in the last 10 days. They are pretty fascinating ( and I'm not just talking about the celebrities!)

    Hi Dark Muse... I've now been to 3 here (including the Pantheon). I still have a few to get to. There is just so much to see and do! I have tons of photos of the celebrity graves I've visited so far. Voltaire, Hugo, Dumas... the list goes on and on LOL! Maybe I'll put a photo album together of just the celebs and post it here!

    Thanks Virgil! I think it would have been better if I had paint instead of pastel. I'm hoping to do a group of paintings from some of the incredible gravestone monuments I've found but, I will wait until I can get paint for that!

    Wow... I haven't been on here for a while (traveling) but I just saw photobucket removed my photo of MY PAINTING!!!!!

    I'm definitely going to have to investigate that when I have time. What a load!
