The Past

The past can be ugly
the past can hurt
but the past can be lovely
and the past can be kind

We know what the past is
it is the truth
it has already happened
it cannot lie

But the future is different
ever unpredictable
always a bright outlook
and it changes as it gets close

The changed can be good or bad
as it becomes the past
so we may finally know
at long last

As we look unpon our memories
that once was the future
we learn from our mistakes
and our minds we nurture
