Some poems, if you please.

I’m feeling extremely sentimental today. Bloody annoying, let me tell you. It probably has something to do with that fact that I’m reading “Jane Eyre”. Heaven knows I love this book. It’s absolutely blissful. I wouldn’t say I’m in love with this book. (Peter Pan has already stolen my heart) but, instead, just merely captivated. I feel like running up to someone and confessing my secret love for them… That is, if I had a secret love. But, almost thankfully, I don’t.
But onto subject beyond love and romance, though it will be hard to avoid them today, I have written two more poems lately and am going to post them up right this minute. Yet before I do, I must remind you all. Most of my poems are just my thoughts rambling. Most probably won’t think them as poetry. I do not pride myself much for this art, but nonetheless I enjoy it. I hope that these aren’t so bad that one doesn’t enjoy them. And I pray I am conveying a message through these lines of words and not just words. Please say what you think, I am eager for critique.
“Freedom”
Windows are opened,
She is free.
No more hate, malice, and cruelty.
She is free from reality.
But freedom isn’t free.
There is no love,
To touch, to hold.
No more feelings,
From the outside world.
Alone and beautiful.
A pitiful kingdom;
Crushed by hate.
Yet rebuilt steadily,
Day by day.
With walls going higher,
Hiding her away.
Her kingdom is now standing;
She is alone.
Freedom has been granted.

The next one, is a “poem” I wrote for one of my characters in my stories…

“Fate”
O, thou Fate,
Cruel and beautiful.
Touched by darkness;
Touched by light;
Art thou yet mollified?
Ye have made people cry, laugh, and hate.
Given hope to the hopeless.
Thou, however, have dashed wishes.
Thou art beautiful in more then looks.
But thou art cruel!
Should I love thee?
Would I love thee?
But ye callest me to hate thee.
O, Fate, full of mystery,
Save me from thy confusion.
Spare me from thy malice.
O, thou Fate,
Am I not merely entranced?
Merely captivated by they dignity?
What bades me to dig deeper?
I hate thy soul.
I cannot get my hands of thee.
Fate, stop laughing at my distress!
O, thou fate,
Curse thee.
But aren’t thou already cursed?
Hasn’t everyone already cursed thee?
Isn’t the fact of they existence already a curse?
Not only for us,
But, also, to they soul?
Fate, thou art beautiful.
Fate, thou art cursed.
Fate, I shall rebel against thee.

So there are my new poems… if they are worthy to be called poems, I know not. But nevertheless, there they are. Right above this text. Hope you enjoy them.

    Second one's not half bad . I like it, but am a little surprised you used more formal English for it .
    And if you like Jane Eyre so much, visit the Charlotte Bronte subforum - I bet you can get into some good discussions there.

    Your reply suggested a poem regarding St. Valentine, being cooked to death, as he was, and relating that to other events. "Roasted on the gridiron of love."

    I like your poem on Fate.
