Experts always tell us most shark attacks are just cases of mistaken identities; the sharks mistake the victims for seals or some other type of food. What if the experts are wrong? What if sharks are just A-holes that get a kick out of biting people? Hmmm, I wonder...

And while I'm thinking about sharks, I wonder how a shark would react if you bit it back. I've heard one should attempt to punch a shark in the snout, or poke at its eyes to make it release its jaws. What if you just turned around and gave the shark a taste of its own medicine with a good ol' chomp to the dorsal fin? Do you think the shark would think, "jeez, is that what this feels like? I can't believe I've been doing this to people for all these years. That is really, really uncomfortable. Man, I need to make some changes" and then let go? I think I'm going to bite the next shark I see... you know, in the name of science.

    I stay away from sharks. I would never go near them. Actually you reminded me of a story. My cousin, female, was on her honeymoon in either the carribean or Hawaii (I can't remember) and she and her husbnd were snorkling with a goup of people and she saw a fin come out of the water and she started screaming "shark, shark" and she and everyone started racing for the shore. It turns out it was a flipper from one of the other snorklers.

    LOL, I would have liked to see the look on their faces after they realized what had really happened. I was actually bitten by a shark once... nevermind that it was only a nurse shark... and probably less than two feet long.

    Ha, well, most humans can't make a big a hole as a shark! But if Jaws hasn't misinformed me, sharks don't think much of anything. :D And I've been bitten by a red-tail boa, nevermind if it was only a baby. :)

    Yes, sharks are very cool. I agree with the consensus, though, in that they don't think with their brain, they think with their sense of smell for meat. The pleasure's not in the chomp but what comes next!
