An extremely belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.
Belated Merry Christmas and happy new year. Gilliatt
Hello Three Sparrows, Hope all is well. I wanted to let you know that I finished Solzhenitsyn (gosh, that name is difficult to type) and I am nearly finished with Conrad. It is difficult to find appreciable amounts of time to read. Gilliatt
Comparing two author's books and their views of similar topics provides a look at the different sides of an event, and is fascinating not only as literature, but history too.
I'm slowly making my way through Conrad and Solzhenitsyn. Work consumes so much time, but I am just past the halfway point in both. I find the two books an interesting juxtapostion; one that anticipates revolution and the other focusing on the human suffering as a result of that eventual revolution.
I have read One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, it's quite interesting! Conrad is one of my favorite authors, but I never read Under Western Eyes; he was a very prolific author. I read his book the Shadow Line recently myself, Steinbeck's East of Eden, and Sienkiewicz's Quo Vadis.
It worked ! I now see your comments. Trust me, I am quite the green horn when it comes to modern techn gadgets. I finished Dostoevsky for the time being and I am now reading Conrad's- "Under Western Eyes" and Solzhenitsyn's "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich" Gilliatt
Hi Gilliatt, thanks for telling me about the comments. I plead the excuse of not being a computer person for not seeing the obvious.
