Conversation Between Madame X and LitNetIsGreat

  1. Ach, not out in paperback yet? How primitive! I’m thinking…early Christmas gift for Mrs. Neely? Hmm, and Fearnley-Whittingstall sounds vaguely familiar. ‘Course, ‘round these parts at least, he’s not as ubiquitous as Nigella Lawson, or Jamie what’s-his-name, or Chef Ramses...but Fearnley-Whittingstall’s definitely not a name I’d soon forget…especially if he’s considerate to piggies. Read on!
  2. Hello, I checked out the book, it looks good, but it's not out in paperback yet, so I'll look into it when it is.

I am currently reading Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's collection of food articles which is called Hugh Fearlessly Eats it All (well that and about 4 other books) it's great. Then again I am extremely biased as I admore Hugh immensely and I am only on the first article (it only came today) must go. Must get back to it.

    Regards, Neely.
  3. Hi, thanks very much for the heads up and letting me know about this book. I'll check out this tonight when I have more time it sounds just the sort of thing I'd be really interested in.

    Thanks again, Neely.
  4. Hey, just noticed your chicken thread. You might wanna check out Jonathan Saffran Foer’s Eating Animals when you get a chance. It covers all the bases where factory farming, family farming, vegetarianism (etc), are concerned, with voices both supportive or otherwise, yet remains, surprisingly, non-moralistic. Of course, Foer, a recent vegetarian convert himself, makes a crack at the industry here and there, but there’s no haughty philosophizing going on; Descartes isn’t even mentioned once.
