I don't think I'll be able to claim 13 times for another couple of years, but I certainly do intend to be reading this book again and again for the rest of my life. May I ask why Feanor? Such a fiery, spiteful character!
Indeed, I must have read LoTR 13 or so times, though my favourite Tolkine has to be the Silmarillion, though I find parts of painful to read, because I like the characters, esp. Feanor, so much. The characters in the Sil are far more interesting than LoTR, I love the Noldor!
I read some of your impassioned defense of LOTR and I just wanted to say, well said! I love LOTR - both book and movie - and have for the last few years been reading other work by Tolkien, off and on.
