  1. You flatter me. (Don't stop...) Hey must go now. Need to have a shower so I smell nice before my next family squabble...

You have yourself a good eve. And a fab new year. Chat later. Ciao
  2. Your life sounds like mine. I have plenty of family. Lots, on both sides. And like you I say blood is thicker than water. But I can't rightly say we get along either. In fact Christmas day was chaotic. I am from an Italian background and they are one feisty bunch. We got into such a huff, that I honestly wished I lived on another planet. It's a shame I am old enough to know wishes don't really come true. The fact that I am 20yrs younger than you... (Ar, don't advertise. I hate to discuss my age) means that my friends are still around and some of them, are to be desired as well. Yet I hang in there. I find the more I help a friend or try to understand them, the more and the more emotional I expect them to be, the more I push them away. So honestly I spend more time talking and getting along with my on-line friends instead. They're not as judgemental. They don't care if I live in another country, or that I have black hair or that I am a little eccentric, or that I am only 5ft2.
  3. Very philosophical. What about family and friends? Has your values changed on family and friendship?
  4. Ok, just enjoy what ever it is you like doing. It was raining heavily here last night, so the New Years firewords were interupted and we ended up leaving early. We saw them whilst in the trian home. I am a little over New Years to be honest with you... I think it's age creeping up on me. Argh!
  5. Thanks Jer. And I am just Mary. No short names, just that I am short so most of my closest friends and family call me little Mary. But Mary will do. (All that info wasn't necessary. What am I thinking? I am silly.) Never mind. What time is it there? Have you reached the New Year yet?
  6. Yes, sometimes that happens. I have to admit, a lot of people on litnet like to go astray a bit and somethimes like to debate about the weirdest issues. Mind you, it can be funny at what things are being said, but if it bothers you, then all you can do is what you did. Just tell them to get beck on track. If the subject gets out of hand, the moderators put a stop to it... Sometimes one needs to be patient or just plain honest. You did the right thing though.
  7. Sorry Jermac. I'm a little confused, with your last comment on my page, what thread?
  8. No, probs, seems I'm not off to the in-laws for another hour or so. Thought I pop back on for a while.
  9. Well I have learnt many things from this site and I know I will continue. I loved the thread about the copyright. I wasn't really sure about copyright. I think it's different here in Australia though. I must do my homework on it, as I have completed my first novel this year and hope to send it off to publishers. Will need to get in with the know before I do.
I have to go, have to visit the in-laws. Chat later no doubt. Take care and happy reading.
  10. You're not wrong there, I have been on and off the internet for about 10 years now. (I go through stages.) But I have never found a site more exiting and helpful. The people on here are friendly, funny and sometimes a little crazy. It was exactly what I was looking for in a site. I think this is one site I will have to keep as my best friend. God knows the real ones can be murder.
