  1. Well, you know how it is. They are rather aged by now, and with age some problems arise. My dad got Parkinson's some 7 years ago, my mum has had arthrosis for several years too, and so on. I guess it's normal when age comes. If young people can get sick, much more an aged person, so I'd rather be near as I am the only son available Now there are matters they can't deal with on their own.

    You take care too
  2. Thank you, Max. I'm glad to know your back is better. I will be glad to keep an eye out for jobs in your country. Do your parents have health problems. It is very nice of you to be there to help them out. Take Care, SoM
  3. Scrumptious? Wow, how hungry of you!

It's so true that fame is ultimately ephemeral for most people, though sometimes it might be possible, with a bit of luck, to make it last a little longer than usual... I suppose.

My back is a bit better for now. Thanks for asking. It seems to be in a relative state of peace at the moment

Thanks for praising my language skills I'd love to be a translator. It would even help me improve the language, and it could be a solution to my situation. If I could do it from home it would be more than ideal, since my folks often need me close to them. If you can check for anything interesting I'd be very grateful that you let me know. Thanks a lot for that too. You are a great friend
  4. Hi Max, well, you are always so good at finding good avatars; that fellow really is scrumptious. I looked him up over here; but I guess he isn't the actor, himself, is not that well known in the states. You know, popularity doesn't last long in the states. When I look at the magazines; I don't even recognize half of the people.
How is your back? I looked at a few American sites for jobs in your country; alot of translator jobs. Some were for book interpretation. I think you would be great as a translator; you are so good with the language. Do you need to be at home right now. I can look at the advertisements over here and see if anything comes up.
  5. Hi soundos!

Thanks for your kind message. I keep looking for online possibilities, but like people tell me I have to be careful. Thanks for the tip concerning your friend's job My avatar is Lieutenant Felix Gaeta, from Battlestar Galactica TV series (aired on Sci-Fi channel from 2003 to 2009), played by Alessandro Giuliani. I picked it for the "Embrace the geek in you" social event organized by Scher. You can find the thread on the General Chat section
  6. Hi Max, sorry to hear about the job situation. I have a friend who claims to make her rent with online work, a laptop and a phone line. She sells stuff from those info-commercials. Who is your sexy avatar; I like him. Good luck and take care,
  7. Thank you, Max. Yes, Mark died in 2005; it's odd, it doesn't seem that long. Yes, I and Jessica became very close because we both took care of Mark while he was ill; so we are more like sisters than mother and daughter.
  8. Sorry to know you're a widow At least you have a good bond with your daughter. That's good. Seems not to happen often nowadays. People now fight for whatever stupid reason, even within the family.
  9. Oh, I'll have to check it out; I love Jude Law. Yes, Jessica is 35 years old, my only daughter from my first marriage. I had no children with my second husband; but he had a son by his second wife. My husband became sick shortly after our marriage, so we thought it best to have no children; though he lived another 24 years.
  10. The avatar in question comes from a promotional picture of the movie "Enemy at the Gates". Actually, the character he portrays is supposed to have a piercing eye, as he was a sniper

    Is Jess your only daughter?
