I think my hair is a bit longer now than it was in the photo. I've been meaning to have it trimmed considering the weather's getting a little hot here. But anyways, I can't wait to see the pictures1 I've been kind of wondering what you look like...
Well Princess I don't think the flattery is misplaced you do have a very pretty face and beautiful hair; I hope you haven't had it cut short since that picture was taken. I think you will be a lot more camera confident when you see the pictures of myself, because I really am non-photogenic. They also manage to make me look like the archetypal American tourist but then people have been confusing me with Americans and Germans for years. When was living in Germany, people would occasionally ask me for directions, thinking I was one of the locals; some Germans were quite surprised when they discovered that I was from England.
Hello! You are quite the flatterer sir! I'm not very confident in front of the camera, you see, because I feel that it doesn't seem to like me much. I'm a bit on the large side, and well, it doesn't look to good on film (or pixels). I'm not much of a techno-savvy myself. I think I have this bad luck with technology, so I don't venture too much on that area. Love lots, Princess
Greetings Princess, Thanks for the E-mail and the picture which is absolutely charming you are even more beautiful than your avatar ( I'm not joking ) and It makes me wish that I were a lot younger. I hope you manage to get some more pictures of yourself during your field trip although I must admit that my computer doesn't always allow me to access pictures sent over the internet. For example, if they come in the form of a little red cross in a square, I cannot open them. I don't know why that is but if they come as an appendage to the E-mail and listed at the top of the message as me.jpg files, I can usualy access them. I think it's something to do with security filters on Vista that are trying to prevent unwanted material getting through but I'm not sure. You may well know more about that than I do as I am not completely au fait with computers or new technololgy in general. I hope you manage to read this before you set of on the field trip as the time zones between England and your country are obviously very different. Enjoy the trip Princess, Brian
Hi Mr. Bean! I've replied to your email yesterday, but I'm not so sure you've received it. So I sent it again just now. We'll be having the field trip on Friday, and I'm very excited! LOL! The computer can be very addicting. I try to pull myself away from it when I'm not home, but it would take me a great deal of effort in order to do so. LOL! Hoping to hear from you soon, Princess
Hi Princess, Thanks for explaining the situation, at least you'll be back in the swim soon. I have sent you the book and photos etc and you should be receiving them shortly. You can either E-mail me when you get them or contact me here on the forum, but don't do it until you have got everything straightened out at your end. Apart from spending too much time on this website, I haven't been doing very much else because I seem to be addicted to the Forums and, short of going on holiday or throwing away my computer, I don't know how to break the habit. Looking forward to hearing from you in due course. Keep well, Brian
Hello Mr. Bean! I'm on a little break (busy! busy! busy!) and I thought I'd drop by. So how are things? What have you been up to lately? Anythng new? Love lots, Princess
Hello Mr. Bean! I am terribly sorry for my sudden disappearing act. I profusely apologize for any discomfort I've caused on your part. Indeed, I'm having technical difficulty from where I'm staying. I stay at the university dormitory, you see, and I only go home during the weekends. The internet connection here these past few days have been somewhat problematic. In addition to this, I have also been rather busy with school work. We are trying to raise funds for a charity work, so we decided to capitalize on the 'papers season' and put up a research paper, critique paper, and all other types of paper business. We help fellow students with their papers by proofreading, researching, and the like. I do most of the work since it was my idea. What I didn't count on was how the project could be such a hit! I'm have clients pouring in! I'm helping with a position paper as we speak. I'm sure by next week things we'll be back to normal. I'll be able to reply more quickly and frequently. I hope you are doing well. Being a busy bee, Princess
Hi Princess, Why are you not responding to our entreaties? We are concerned that, perhaps, computer problems are preventing you from replying to our posts. It is always disconcerting when someone on the forum suddenly disappears without any warning. Now that you have successfully E-mailed me, what is preventing you from contacting the forum?
Hullo Princess, I hope you manage to Email me successfully despite the computer problems you are having. I will send you some pictures taken in China and I also have some taken in Somerset and Wiltshire which are far from London as well as a couple taken in Surrey, which is my favourite English county and very near to London so that I have done a lot of walking there in the past. I will send you a letter also, explaining the location given in the pictures. I know what you mean about viruses, it was basically on account of those that I had to get a new computer;although I did have the other one for seven years. I too had a couple of different technicians get rid of the viruses but the viruses came back later and it was cheaper to buy a new computer than to keep paying people to fix it. I suppose you have Windows XP home version, which is what I had and is easier to use than Vista but the one thing Vista has in its favour is that it regularly downloads automatically its own anti-virus software so that, so far, the computer has remained virus free. Are you going to have a debutante ball ? I don't know too much about such things. You will find that the older you get the faster time seems to pass and that is why you should get out and do things before you wake up one morning and realise that you are too old to do them. It's so easy to sit back and think that you have all the time in the world but it isn't so and it's important to set your sights on what you want to do and do it as soon as it becomes possible. Somerset Maugham once said that wasting time was the luxury he most appreciated because time is so precious that to waste it was the ultimate form of self-indulgence. Wishing you all the best, Brian
