Oh I get it, so you made an avatar from the portrait of the first edition of the novel, right? I haven't read the whole of Beowulf either, only some passages, still a pending subject, but I agree with you. It's a magnificent story. Have you seen the movie? What would you say about its accuracy?
Oh, it's Cossette, from "Les Miserables." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Mis%C3%A9rables Ah, Beowulf. You know I'm an English teacher. And while I can't pretend that I've read "Beowulf" in it's entirety, or in anything but a translation in a textbook and a truncated version at that, I have read it, and taught it, and loved it. Such a larger than life character-and story. the original tall tale.
Hi qimi! I'm fine, all in all. How are you? My avatar is Beowulf, from the animated movie.... dated 2007, if I'm not wrong. I have it since I changed it for The Superhero Weekend social event, but it's not my regular avatar, and I haven't made up my mind as to whether I'll keep it or change it back again. By the way, your avatar is.... ?
I have to ask. Who is your avatar? I guess I should recognize him, but I don't. How's life?
You're welcome qimi! I didn't know men's tear ducts were smaller. Maybe that's why so many men seem afraid of crying (probably they fear an overflow through the narrow channels ). That's interesting to know. Thank you, and don't worry about sending music links. I love music too
I would love to film a small one like that one. I don't think I could manage a big one. Right now I just wish I had a digital camera. I think that would be so much fun.
Thank you for your very kind words. That was really touching. I love Sarah Brightman. A lot. I don't know why I haven't favorited her music more on youtube. I need to start doing that. It's OK, about the crying. Yes, literally when one cries, it rids the body of toxins. Did you know men have smaller tear ducts than women? Interesting, eh? I haven't looked at the words for Pie Jesu yet, but I will. I just love her voice on that for some reason. Here's another song. I 'll try not to be annoying about this. I like music; it's been fun to share. http://www.youtube.com/user/qimissun...16/Pa4100JFb6o
I left a comment on your blog about your dad, qimi It is a really great video. Sorry for the song that made you cry. Actually, I'm quite sensitive and often weep at certain scenes and songs. I don't think it's wrong to be sensitive. I believe it's a way to clean the soul. Have you ever filmed a video? I haven't, but I'd love to be a movie director. It must be wonderful to create a story. Thank you too, for the link to Pie Jesu. It had been long since the last time I listened to it by Charlotte Church. I am more familiar with Sarah Brightman's version, because I have her full discography, being a big fan of Sarah's Do you speak Latin? Do you know what the song says? In case you don't, I have this link with lyrics and a few translations (I don't know which one is the most accurate because I don't speak Latin, though I have a friend who does and I should ask him)
Thank You, Max, for your kind words about my dad. He lived a good long life, and I'm glad for that. It's hard to know I will never get to see him again. We tried to say good-bye as lovingly as we could. I wrote a little about it in my blog, if you care to look: http://www.online-literature.com/forums/blog.php?b=9533 I'm glad you liked the video. Amazing, wasn't it? I would love to be able to film something like that. It looks like it would be easy, but you know it wasn't. And thank you for the song. It made me cry a little. Actually, it makes me think of my parents. I don't know which is more beautiful, the song, the girls, their singing, or their dresses. I'm sending you another song; it is not really apropos of the theme of either the video or the song you sent, just one beautiful song inspired by another. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jn4sX...eature=related
I couldn't help seeing your conversation with firefangled about your dad passing away in December. I'm so sorry. Be strong
