Thank you, Daniel! It is a beautiful quote, isn't it? I know very little about him, except that he was quite influential. What book(s) of his have you read? Actually, I noticed yours the other day. I like it, too-very intriguing. I probably should know the author or the work, but I don't. Where did you encounter it? What's it about? How's school? How did you end up in online classes for high school anyway? Is it working out? I know there is a lot of wasted time in high school (a lotof wasted time), but do you miss human interaction? One of my sons friends tried it, but it didn't work out for him. I don't think he actually finished high school, per se, but he is now going to community college and is thinking of becoming a lawyer. I must say I think he would do well at it. By the way, that is one gorgeous poem you wrote for the picture poetry contest. Thanks for making my life so much harder. Rat. (I keed).
Damn you qimisung for being such a good poet (this is in reference to the poetry contest you stole! *hint*hint*)
Hey I really like the Al-Ghazali quote in your signature. I just started reading him (as well as the Qu'ran) and realized that he was in your sig To tell you the truth, I find Plato and Aristotle to be quite wanting by todays standards since they have been so widely repeated and criticized, but in discovering Islamic philosophy, it feels like such a breathe of fresh air. And even more so with ancient Chineese philosophy. Have you ever read Tao Te Ching? Oh it is truly unique and captivating in its enigmatic beauty, certainly beyond any other philosopher anywhere else in the world at the time.
"endlessly" is the correct adverb. And I will.
Hey it's okay Just make sure to tell me what you think of whatever you watch Ehhh, I don't think I could EVER be a teacher My mom's one, and I remember her endlessly working on papers.
Well, I favorited that particular blog entry. Thanks for the additions. I will make an effort to watch some of those short ones this weekend. Sorry to make it sound like it's a lot of trouble; it's not. Just right now I've got a lot of grading to do-not hard stuff, just a lot of it, so I'm feeling a little burdened right now, but then don't we all?
Hey, I've included on my list of links some more well-known American films If you want short films, Simon of the Desert, One Week and that ten minute Godard film are all short ones.
Thank you! For both the video and the compliment
Love your avatar. I was looking through the Picture Poetry Contest thread and came across your poem there-a very good one, you captured the bleakness and dichotomy of the picture very well.
