Three weeks......?????? That is now in question. It looks like I will be here to the end of February, but they tell me; absolutely no longer than that. However, I will be taking my typical long weekend trip home at the end of next week. Thanks for the Bolero. I've always enjoyed the slow ascent. Gilliatt
Looking good, my friend, the building and you! Oh, here's another music link for you. I love this! It's so beautiful, both visually and aurally. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-4J5j74VPw P.S. It's freakin' cold here-30 degrees! B-r-r-r! I can't tell you the last time it was painful getting my car filled with gasoline. I don't even think I own a pair of gloves anymore!
I am working on the Federal Courts building. My role is a "construction administrator" representing the interests of the building owner and of course our firm, by monitoring quality, pointing out deficiencies and helping the contractor's with questions regarding our drawings and specs. Take a look at post 4862 under the "Litnet Photoalbum" you can see yours truly with our building behind me. Gilliatt
Thank you for the glorious music, Gilliatt! How's it going in Illinois? What are you guys working on, anyway? Only three more weeks till you get to go home, right? Hang in there, buddy!
Wow, thanks for the music! and in return: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdtLuyWuPDs Regards, Gilliatt
I see you don't have to fly back until Monday. Hopefully January will go by swiftly!
Happy New Year, Gilliatt. It kind of sucks to have to live for extended periods away from home, but the end is in sight, and I'm sure it feels good to have done a good job. Did you get to stay home through the new year? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBOYYlanm1k
qimissung, Thanks for the Merry Christmas well wishes. It is wonderful to be home for a decent length of time. I have to return to Illinois on January 3rd, but my assignment ends at the end of January and I will be home for good! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and will have a great New Year! Your Texas pal. Gilliatt
Merry Christmas to you and your family Gilliatt!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Kimbell exhibit. I really do wish I had made the effort to go back an see it. I agree, she does seem quite intent on decapitation! The one Goya image that I recall was the "The Third of May 1808".
