  1. Oh dear! The problem is that if you knew "the hair gel kid" (who, incidentally likes to prance around in my mom's high heels) you'd be in stitches all the time. Little Mr. Charisma can punch his uncle in the stomach and his uncle reproves him in a gale of giggles. Yours truly stands there with a most serious expression on her pedantic face, although inwardly she's satirizing the whole situation.

Lol. So funny! Your mom must be in awe of the gifted creature she brought into the world!
  2. LOL! I can't stop laughing about the hair gel kid. Yes, you're right about food. When they don't have to cook it, they will be fussy about it. And now with the young kids like this gel case, boys have started becoming particular about looks too.

No way, why would I undeceive my mum? It's good that she thinks I have the rare gift to learn through osmosis. How many people besides me and my osmosis cat can boast of having such an incredible gift?
  3. I guess our opinions are just based on people we know. I find that when men don't have to cook, they become spoiled. You're probably generally right about clothes and looks. But I'm the exception. And my 10 year old neighbor boy has been known to make his family drive over an hour to get the hair gel he forgot.

I see. I thought the closest thing there could be to osmosis of information would be to hear something once or twice and never have to drill it in more. But the explanation is funny. So you haven't undeceived your mom?
  4. Now when you mention it in the context of gender generalizations, I think girls are more particular about what to eat, what to wear and all such things. I never thought of it this way though.
No, I did not mean photographic memory when I said osmosis. Do you think that the cat lying over the books claiming to learn through osmosis is actually learning anything.
It's just like that with me too. I'm seen with books all the time, somewhere near me. I even sleep with one or two beside my pillow sometimes giving the impression I'm using them for a pillow. However, I mostly read at night when everybody sleeps so my Mum thinks that I don't read as much as I know. The obvious answer is- 'osmosis'!
  5. *Chuckles* And I've always declared that men are the fussy ones. I generalize too much.

You're so lucky to learn through "osmosis". I assume that's akin to having a photographic memory.
  6. You're welcome!

You have no idea of the number of things to which I have a similar aversion. That's why I want to get over some of these so I can count myself out of the category "fussy"

I love the idea in the pic. And I'm glad you like it. My Mum would testify to the fact that I really do learn through osmosis At least it appears so to her.
  7. I never realized this site could automatically re-size stuff, so thanks.

I think everyone has the right to dislike a few things, even if they aren't avoiding them for health reasons, so you really shouldn't need that excuse with your strong banana-aversion.

Love the pic on your profile now, btw.
  8. I had problem resizing the poster too so I saved the picture to my computer and then uploaded it. It resized automatically. Simple. And don't worry about cheesy, if you like it, wear it. I'm going to have more fun with this movie poster weekend.
Thanks for telling me about bananas not being good for asthma. I was trying to get over my disgust and not be fussy about eating them. Now I think it is a good thing I can't eat them.
  9. Yes, I still haven't figured out how to re-size the movie poster correctly without cropping it square, so the name and details aren't there. Maybe that's good since it could be considered a cheesy movie but I love the combination of the two faces.

About the bananas: I don't like the texture of ripe ones mashed, though I don't have such a strong aversion to them as you do. My parents love banana "ice cream" from our juicer, but I don't like that either. I do like them blended in fruit shakes or nut milks though.
Too much potassium isn't supposed to be good for asthmatics, so I'm not in a rush to eat more bananas.
  10. That's an interesting avatar.
