forgot to tell you that I got Koch's "Wishes, Lies, And Dreams" in my xmas stocking. I'm using it, for myself. 'wishes, noises, dreams, and comparisons' It's a bit like treading in old dreams and making them poetry.
I don't think the class will be subpar, perhaps my performance will be though. I like the instructor, and I agree with you, I should come out having learned something.
if nothing else, it will force you to write. even if the class is subpar, at least it's the right subject. You are bound to learn something you can use.
I'll try to float in and out as I can mostly to use the haiku thread for inspiration. I'll post what I can come up with for more complete poems, though it's looking to be a busy semester. So far I'm a bit less-than-inspired by my poetry writing class (basically just the textbook - I like the stance in Koch's book much better). I've only had one class though, so we'll see how it goes.
