Hi, Downing. How are things? We haven't spoken in a bit.
I'm fine thank you. I was reading Paul Auster's The New York Triology (a New York author, but it's only ok, nothing to rave about) and poems by Boris Pasternak which are very good. Nice to hear from you. Hope you are well.
Hello there Virgil! How have you been lately? Studying anything interesting?
You're very nice, but my English is far from excellent.
I've been very healthy all fall and winter so far, so I'm not complaining. I bet you'll do very well on that English exam. Your english is excellent. Best of luck.
Hello Virg! Thank you very much for your thoughtful message I am studying intensively for my Cambridge First Certificate in English, which I will sit in March. I am not feeling quite well this week, because I've got down with flu. I've stayed home the whole week and haven't gone to school. Thankfully, I am slowly but surely recovering. How are you?
Hi Downing. What's new? How is school going? Studying anything interesting?
I just responded Downing. I'm sorry, I had forgotten about your PM. old age, you know.
Oh I am sorry you're in that melancholy mood. Indeed, when they close shops or destroy very old houses in my area in order to build new ones, I also feel a pang... I sent you a few days ago a PM but I suppose your inbox is so full that it hasn't come in yet
Thank you for the video Downing. A little sad, which is exactly as I feel today. I guess I'm coming off the holiday high. I went to my old neighborhood this morning to get a haircut. I still travel to the barber shop in my old neighborhood, only to find he had closed down. Do you realize I've been getting haircuts there for 30 years at least. Well i feel a little melancholy. it's the passing of time. You're too young yet to know what I mean. Take care, and thanks.
