Oh, thanks for your comment in my blog. In case you don't wander back, I left this as a reply comment: "Oh yes I remember that entry Capt. I even left a comment. Thanks for commenting here. My little aches are in no way comparable to your condition. I find you dealing with your condition heroic. My heart goes out to you my friend." My best wishes Capt.
Yes Virg, I haven't been here to sit down in read/write in a while. Busy with life stuff: still haven't bought a house -- place we want is in foreclosure, West Coast bank has many and is moving very slowly. We've been getting snow pretty steady, five-day power outage -- it happens up here. I will look at your blog entry, really strange, I think you mean to say yours is "fleeting youth", same name as a recent one of mine! Really quite heartbroken over the antics of my children (24 and 16). Much writing backlog, or maybe my creative bowels are constipated! We are renting a temporary space, feels funny -- lots of stuff to ruminate on. I'm happy you thought of me._P.
How you been Cap? I haven't seen you around, though I see under your picture you were here today. Perhaps we just miss each other. I haven't seen a blog from you lately. Hey did you catch my last one, called Fleeting Youth? It's got a picture of me from when I was a young whippersnapper.
Hope you had a nice birthday Capt.
Hey Capt I was looking through your pictures of loved ones. You have a wonderful family.
Thanks for the comments. No I am not a published writer, unless you include my college magazine way back then.
Virgil -- Yes, Crane is really good, over the past few years, I have been catching up on the great American authors... that is, of a hundred years ago or so. I like Crane's depiction of desperation and I suppose, his study of cowardice too. The thing is, all the reading many people did as part of their education from the late teens through their 20s -- I took powder during those times (a lot of powder, ha ha) so now, I've got my head on straight and I'm really enjoying all that assigned reading: Jack London, O Henry, Poe, Somerset Maughm -- the list goes on. There is so much good writing out there... I'll never catch up. But, thanks for stopping by, I've gotten so much out of the lit net that I'd like to try to put some time in to these pages and blogs and stuff. BTW, really liked your entry, "The Son That the End-Of-Life", spelled wrong intentionally, really good stuff. Are you a published writer?
Hey Cap. I noticed you stopped by my profile, so I'd just stop by yours and say hello. Hey I just noticed in your profile that your favorite author is Stephan Crane. I love Crane myself. In fact i think his short story "The Blue Hotel" is one of the best short stories ever written.
