"let the kittens lick our hair and drink our chalky lemonade" that is exactly the line that made me sit up and pay attention! great, great line. sometimes it takes me a while. Well, I've actually been on an Andrew Bird kick. and I'm still addicted to My Morning Jacket. I've been using the 'genius' feature on my iPod a lot lately, which I mistrusted at first, but now think is awesome. I have half attempted to write a sonnet, but I shamefacedly admit, it's beyond me, I admire those who can, but there's something basic I'm missing about meter, it won't gel. I'll just have to be content with what I can do.
Eh, I've given up on the terza rima I think (at least for now), but now have to make a more concerted effort to write a sonnet pretty quick here. **** deadlines for poetry. I hear you about spring, though it's snowing here now (it had been warm). Ahh, Masterfade, such a beautiful song . . . "let the kittens lick our hair and drink our chalky lemonade" - so good. I've been listening to his new album a lot. I like it. He's very good about surprising you with the direction he goes. I've had to let a few albums grow on me before I really get into them (for example, The Swimming Hour, which is somewhat hokey but has a lot of really good songs also). How about you, have you listened to anything good lately?
heyyyy, Il Penseroso. things here are good, better than fine. it's burgeoning spring! keeps me out of doors and off the old eyebox. how's that first line, any better? It's rough to be stumped on the second line when the first is not even what you want. F**k form, that's what I always say. I did notice your new poem, and I swear I will get around to posting my thoughts, however unformed they may be. you could always wordscrape. what's next in the Andrew Bird line up? I have listened to a million times, but only today fell in love with this song, "Masterfade", but I like all of it. good stuff.
Haven't seen you around much lately. How are things going?
It's um, still going? or should be going? I think I've got a second line down, but I'm still a bit unsure on a first. We'll see what happens...
how'd it go with the terza rima?
Ok, I see. Well, hopefully it's not under incubation too long.
I'm incubating it, it wasn't fully grown, it got scared of the big wide world.
What'd you do with your blog?
I plan to get it sometime soon for myself as well and for when I'm teaching. Hope it proves useful
