The way that Skalds and other ancient poets presented their poetry was somewhat like rap, except that they used pleasant sounding tones and rhythms. The instrumental part of the presentation was minimal.

No, you misinterpreted me. If my lyricism were like theirs, then it might work better as rap, and I do not like rap. I would prefer to write something that would come out like Janis Joplin singing "Mercedes Benz".
