  1. At university I study English translation I've now studied two years and have three more to go. New semester starts in a couple of weeks (after four months' summer holiday, which I've spent working whenever I've had the opportunity). I'll probably continue working during the winter too if I've got the time, because I didn't make as much money this summer as I would have hoped (working shifts in libraries is fun, but it's not a steady full-time job, so it doesn't make you rich).
  2. Yes, I am a "library aunt", at least sort of. I work in different libraries whenever they need me to cover for someone who is ill or otherwise unable to work. I'm not formally qualified for the job, but I learned the system when I spent my "orientating period in working life" in a local library on the 9th grade. They liked me there and told me that when I'd be of age, I could start working in libraries for real, and that's what I did. I consider myself really lucky, as libraries are one of my favourite places in the world
  3. I remember you're a library aunt, right?

What are you studying at University? Is it a library-related career? On vacation for now or taking courses?

(Too many questions? Sorry, I'm curious and want to know you a lil better )
  4. I think I was away for just about six months... and even before that I took some longer breaks. Last year at university was pretty crazy, all that studying and stress and my skin condition was not a very good combination I hope next year will be easier
  5. So I won by little It's nice to know we both felt the same impulse Thank you for that

How long have you been away?
Don't you ever do that again, lady! Or if you do, at least say where you're going!
  6. Oh, I was just about to send you a friendship request myself

It's so nice being back at litnet, I don't understand why I stayed away for such a long time
  7. Totally absent-minded. "Max-setä" agrees with "Anna-täti" on that
    (Thanks for accepting friendship )
  8. "Uncle" would be "setä". So "Max-setä" is just as absent-minded as the rest of us
  9. The same thing happens to me... I can have whatever I'm looking for right in front of me and I can't see it So, it seems that "Uncle Max" has the same problem as "Anna-täti"

What's the Finnish word for "uncle"?
  10. Thank you And don't worry, that sort of things happen to everyone from time to time Like looking for something you're already holding in your hands... Happens to me far too often
