I think it's entirely possible to learn to play no matter what the age, as long as there's enthusiasm. It might be slower than it would be for a child, but then again an adult often has more determination and better concentration than children do, so in that sense age might be an advantage Your guess was correct, I'm a soprano. I'm the one who always screams all the high notes no one else can reach I'm much better already, thank you very much My throat isn't very sore anymore and the fever went down too. I hope I'll be completely cured by Monday
I've never had any singing lessons, either, in that area I've mostly learned by myself. I've sang on different choirs since I was six years old, though (but there were several years during which I didn't really sing almost at all). I'm not very good with a guitar, I know some basic chords, but my fingers start to hurt after a while and my fingers just cant play a barre chord properly. I guess I'll just have to stick with the piano But even though I've been singing and playing music for most of my life, I only started listening to it in upper secondary school. Nowadays I can't go anywhere without my background music
I want to buy a 20-note harmonica I found rather cheap at my local Wal*Mart. It comes with a manual that claims to teach how to play it with an easy-to-learn method. What do you think? Is it possible to learn how to play an instrument at any age without having a real musical background as a child, or is it too late when being an adult? So you sing? and what voice range (is that the right term?) do you have? Are you a soprano maybe? Tell me about your flu. Already gone or still bugging your throat?
Lucky you, I wish I could play anything. Sadly, I had no musical background as a kid. The disadvantage of that is that I can't play nor sing anything. The advantage is that I discovered my favourite genres on my own, which is good because nobody washed my brains with their sounds, so I found my own ones My uncle had given me his never-used guitar, I wanted to give it a try and suddenly he wanted it back to change it for something else, so I don't have it anymore and I can't afford one yet And I think I have an unpleasant voice, at least for singing. I don't really like how it sounds on microphones. They seem to distort it even more than it really is. Many people have told me "your voice isn't the same on the phone". Probably it would sound better if I had taken singing lessons, which I never did either.
I have a laptop with a big screen and a full-size keyboard - it's the best option for me. Normally it's just sitting on my desk and for me it's like a normal full-sized computer, only one that I can take with me if I know I'm going to stay at my parents' place for a week or something. I don't usually carry it with me, I don't have any need to do so I've been meaning to ask - I know you like listening to music, but do you play some instrument yourself, or sing, perhaps? I play the piano (I took lessons for nine years) and I love singing - I'm going to be a choir leader at the university, if we just can find some place to practise with the translation students' choir.
Yippee! I have the single now... Anette looks "Scandinavianly" cute on the cover and I even invented myself a new adverb, "Scandinavianly". If such an invention is possible you can use my newly made-up adverb at free will, I won't charge you for it Well I wasn't planning to buy a laptop, though at least I have an idea about the camera!
No, Anette is not on the video. It was really an independent project done by Tuomas and Marco, and then there was Jukka playing the drums of course. There is no guitars or female vocals at all. So it's not really an "official" Nightwish song, but it was included on Amaranth single. Sorry, you can't buy my webcam unless you'll buy a whole new computer My webcam is inbuilt in my computer, Acer Chrystal Eye Webcam. My computer is Acer Aspire 7520G (a laptop with a 17" widescreen), but the same webcam comes with some other Acer computers too
What a great song, really. I see the movie was released in 2007, same as Dark Passion Play, though I couldn't see Anette on the video... is she there? The song isn't apparently included in any of their albums, is it? Thanks for the "Tönkkö" explanation Oh, another question, you said you take your pix with a webcam and they look much better than the ones I take with me cell phone so what webcam do you own? It seems a pretty good one... AND I WANT ONE LIKE YOURS
Another Nightwish song you should try is While Your Lips Are Still Red. It's from the soundtrack of a Finnish movie called "Lieksa!" (Lieksa is a town in eastern Finland). The blond male is my favourite Finnish actor, by the way "Tönkkö" is just a word which describes the Finnish accent perfectly It's something stiff and clumsy, many Finns speak English syllable-by-syllable (meaning not-so-fluently) and pronounce things in a Finnish way, for example using the vibrating R.
"Yippee" here too Yes, he should be grateful! He owes YOU this new fan. You should go collect your commission Probably the creatures were there and you didn't see them, because probably they can only be captured by a camera... it's a rule of thumb with spirits .... I have just acquired "Dark Passion Play", the first CD with all the singing and the second CD which has the same songs in instrumental version and I have a good chance of getting "Once" Oh well, at least Mr. Prime Minister is trying, though he could try a bit harder What does "tönkkö" mean? I couldn't find it.
