Unless you commented on a post, I don't know if people can track who looks at their Facebook page. It isn't like LitNet that way. If it ever becomes an issue, just create a second account for your relatives. You can explain that the other page is for your forum. Most people understand this, I think. After all, I have my personal page--but I have a page that is for my school mates that deals with medical coding only.
Please don't tell me that all my relatives will know that I've been sneaking around their Facebook pages without adding them as friends.
Just an update to what I wrote yesterday. For its second day of existence, the page doesn't look bad. I've already got two albums, one with Emma pictures and one with Emma fan art. One link. Click the Discussions tab to access our forum-like topics. Friends who are already there: Thea, Jen, Carol, Mette, Giulia, Marguerite, Marysia, and Nicole (or Skeeter). I'm hoping Jess, Rooney, and An will also find their way there...they are on Facebook. We miss you! You can control how much information you put on Facebook. You don't even have to use your real name. I started a page for my class, and what I did is that when they asked for my name...I put Sheridan for the first name and Medicalcoding for the last name. It appears as Sheridan Medicalcoding. They do object to some names--but you don't have to use your real name.
http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/...03887859689602 I've created an Everyone Loves Emma Thompson page on Facebook since it seems the forum may be closed permenantly. It isn't too impressive just now, but I'll work on it.
How are you now, Jessica? I hope that nasty flu is over! I don't know what the back-stories in your drawing are, but it displays both emotion and action in detail. Good luck with the contest! Do you know when the Emma forum went down? I'd checked a few days ago to see how Jen was managing the spam deluge, and then hadn't stopped by until today. Unfortunately, I can't access it either and my moderator position has no bearing on the problem. Has anyone on Facebook been in contact with Jen (Blaze78)? Even if she can't correct the problem, she may be able to contact the site administrator/owner. My guess is that it's a domain renewal error, since the administrator never visits the site. (Though I'm technologically challenged, so I really don't know whereof I speak. It might be something else entirely.) Now I wish I had Facebook so I could get in contact with some of the members... there's not much I can do right now.
Hi, Sarah! I hope you are well! Just noticed you haven't been on in a while. Some of our Emma friends are upset because they no longer go to the forum when they click on the link. We do go to a site that calls itself emma-thompson.org--but it isn't the same site. Do you know what is going on? I figured since you were a moderator, you would know.
Hey, Sarah! I hope you are well. I'm recovering from the flu and a little disappointed that some plans got messed up. However, I can reschedule, so it isn't a total tragedy. I just finished a drawing for a Tombraider contest: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pi...00000782026924 I'm very proud of it even if it doesn't win.
Actually I was able to see the letter when I popped over to the Emma forums before coming here. I don't know why it worked this time. Maybe the settings were different? It was great to see the letter! I'll probably write her a letter soon, seeing how she responds so nicely. "Outwork" was a typo. I meant artwork, and, yes, for films, games or actresses that you're a fan of. Good luck with the Tombraider drawing contest! You've got a good precedent with the haiku win.
I just posted my facebook link to the letter in the Emma discussions forum--the thread about whether you have ever written to Emma Thompson. Of course, you can't seem to get the Facebook links, but other people didn't have a problem. Point is, everybody gets a chance to see it. Now...if I could only figure out where I put the Emma pictures that I drew.
You can see the Emma letter on LitNet in my "Pictures of Me" album. When you asked if I did outwork for all my fandoms--did you mean do I draw pictures for everything I am a fan of? I have done some doodlings of Jane Badler, I've made two Tombraider Xmas cards, and I drew two pictures of Emma Thompson--one that I'm more proud of than the other. Unfortunately, while I know I do have them, I just can't remember where I put them. I have a lot of albums. I'm now drawing another Tombraider picture because there is a contest being held where the prize is a Lara Croft statue.
