Conversation Between Maximilianus and Annamariah

  1. Our winters are long and summers short, but seven months of snow is not true, at least in most of the country. In Lapland it can happen, but not always. Here (in the southern part of the country) there's snow maybe from November to March, but usually the first snow melts a couple of times before we get some that stays for a long time, and also there's not necessarily very much snow left in March. A constant cover of snow lasts usually just for a couple of months.

But hey, in return for dark winters we've got those summer nights filled with light. Ever heard of midnight sun? At 10 p.m. in the summer there can be more light than there's in midday in winter...

(Damn these character limitations of these visitor profile messages, I'm going to have to send you PM if you want to hear something more What about where you come from, how cold winters do you have?)
  2. We're very melancholic, you'll only have to listen to some Finnish music and you'll soon realise that most of it is in minor and the lyrics are very rarely happy.

Some say that this melancholy is related to the darkness of our long winters. Yes, in winter we rarely see the sun (it's dark when we go to school or work and it's dark when we come home again, and even when the sun is up it's mostly hidden behind clouds), and in Lapland the sun doesn't even rise at all at the darkest time of the year. It's a fact that depression is more common in winters here, we even have a term "kaamosmasennus", "polar night depression"
  3. At this moment I'm practicing the "rrrrrrrrrrrrrr", though I feel I'll be a master in no time soon

"smart girls read"... hmm... now I know why I can talk with you and not with others whose "anti-smartness" has overtaken them....

Aww, Finns are melancholic... I will have to speed up that swim to Finland, so I can cheer up all Finns

So you are in ruska... care to tell me a little more about the seasons in Finland? I read that winters in the north last about 7 months with full snow, and I read that summers last from 2 to 3 months, though I'd rather ask a Finn... I don't trust Wikipedia
  4. Ah, you've learned to say "I'm alRRRRRRRight!"

Actually you don't have my whole avatar biography yet: at first I used to have an avatar where there was a pile of books, again half of a face (though not mine that time) and a text: "smart girls read"

I can see that at least the Finnish melancholy couldn't affect you You're just as funny and talkative as always.
  5. Lingering symptom: I'm doing the "Tarja thing" all day long, with my awful voice, so my mom comes asking "are you feeling okay?", and then I reply producing vibrating Rs (which I never did before), so my mom says "you are not my son, what have you done to my boy? Give him back to me right now!"

By the way, now that I have all your avatar biography completely figured, I'm beginning to feel a certain envy that I don't have an avatar biography myself. So much envy that I'll soon begin swapping avatars until I have my own story

Curiously, sometimes some funny people here tend to stress on the first syllable words that are naturally stressed somewhere else. They do it for fun They need to be laughing frequently by any method, including linguistic amusement

PS: It's been a pleasure to be you for a weekend. Now I feel as a "weekend twin and Finn"
  6. So I'm back with half a face... You know, you managed to have four times as much of me in your avatar as I usually do (This is my third half-a-face avatar here, I guess you never saw the first one, but it's basically the same image that was from the first twin picture I showed you, just without the twin and with a bit less forehead)

So how does it feel to be you again? Any lingering symptoms of being me, like singing along to all the high notes of Nightwish songs? Maybe a nice Finnish accent in you speech? A tendency to stress only the first syllable of each word?
  7. Gave you your identity back and recovered mine
  8. Ditto
  9. Goodbye, and enjoy your nap

I'll be a good student and finish my assignment within the deadline
  10. I can't deal with the headache anymore, so I'll say bye bye beautiful , and I'll check Nemo later on. Don't work so hard and go rest as much as you can
