Conversation Between PeterL and Beautifull

  1. I don't expect most people to agree with me. I start to wonder whether I might be mistaken when too many people agree with me. Oddly enough, someone on the forum more or less agreed with me.

There are a few bits in "Civil Disobedience" that I think you might like, but his writing is not to your taste, so you might not be able to read it.
  2. Sounds like you have fun doing that...although what you told them is the truth you believe in...not everyone believes that what you say is the truth( refer back to our arguments.)

That's actually the one quote I found by Thoreau that I like...it has a lot of meaning for someone who keeps trying despite all their failures(of course everyone has a few).
  3. Repartee is my second favorite indoor sport. You might want to look at the discussion of the nature of Gods and Goddesses that is on the religious text board. The theists and atheists have made their ordinary claims, and I laughed while giving them the Truth.

As for the quote, I suppose that if one likes that sort of aphorism, then it's O.K., but there isn't enough substance for my taste.
  4. Oh, what do you think of this quote:

Keep up the fire of thought, and all will go well.
  5. It is kind of fun, especially since I don't have enough people to argue with at home.
  6. Let's butt heads and maybe bite teeth, scratch sides, etc.
  7. haha. And neither shall I. We are forever butting heads like two predators fighting over property. That's why that pic of the lion and the tiger reminded me of our debates.
  8. Yes, you were trying to wear me down until I conceded defeat, but I shall not be defeated.
  9. All I see is blah blah blah...
  10. There i8s no reason to be wrong, if one can avoid it, which relates to your silly attempt to make me think that I was wrong about something here. I wasn't, but like the discussion about the existence off the Gods and Goddesses that I jumped into, it is unlikely that I will be able to shake the erroneous opinions of others, unless I demonstrate the= lack of logic in their "arguments".
