Conversation Between Maximilianus and Annamariah

  1. Hi I see you've finally found some time for LitNet again
  2. So it seems we're not going to be running out of things to talk about anytime soon

I know what it's like being terribly busy, I've had too much going on at once for a while now (and it seems to be getting worse every year). Take care, don't overwork yourself.

I had a choir-related accident a week ago - I broke my tuning fork. I can't understand how that could happen, those things should be pretty unbreakable, but the handle just came off I can still get a sound, if I hold it carefully, but it's not exactly the same it was before. Well, at least I've been able to keep the practises going and those Christmas carols are already starting to sound pretty good. I just realised that none of my friends outside the university or anyone from my family has ever heard us perform. I guess that might change sometime now that we're in Helsinki.

How has your day been apart from working?
  3. Thank you so much for your PM's, though I haven't found a chance to read them yet (soon, I promise). I'm having a terrible week at work, preparing several slideshows I had to design for this guy who is very much a resemblance of my people's stereotypes I'll tell you about him by PM; he's quite an Argentinian character... and worthy of analysis

I'm nowhere near done, either, with my stereotype analysis. That's why I'm thinking of new details to give away
  4. Good night I've got to do my homework before the classes start today, so I'll soon be off too.
  5. Hi!

I really need to go get some sleep before the sun rises in a very few hours, so as I saw you are on-line I decided to drop a "hi" and a promise to keep replying later. Bye for now
  6. I just realised I never answered to your question about Narnia films. I liked them, though of course they're different to the books. Not too different though, I've books turned into movies that have taken far too many liberties with the plot, and the new Narnia films aren't like that. I also like them much better than the old tv-series, where all the magical creatures were either grown up people dressed as animals (mice and beavers) or drawn animation - very unrealistic. I hoped for years that someone would make new versions of them with modern technology
  7. Too bad, you'll miss some great Christmas carols in three languages

You know, I'm nowhere near done with my analysis of Finnish mentality and stereotypes I just had to finish, because there's that damn 5000 characters limitation on PMs I'm looking forward to your answer

I didn't miss any classes because of my trip, as we went to London on my break week. At university one academic year consists of seven weeks of classes, one week's break (which is supposed to be effective independet study time, it's not like a holiday without any homework), another seven weeks of studies, four weeks of Christmas break, seven weeks of studies, one week's break, and final seven weeks of studies before four months of summer holiday (when it's pretty much compulsory to find some work unless you happen to be a very rich student).

I did miss one Russian grammar class because of getting ill, though, but I can't really blame London for that
  8. OH MY GOSH!!! I missed the choir practise! I feel like I'm falling apart! What am I gonna do now? All my dreams to become a Pavarotti.... wasted away in the icy gulf of Finland!! There's no bright fate for me .......

Hmmm... okay about my Narnia analysis... I just love it when people let themselves be dragged by my madness

I've been reading your abundant analysis on your people, so thank you so much It was very informative. It was so interesting that I will reread it carefully so that I can reply as you deserve Besides, I have more to tell you about my folks, in order to establish comparisons between our respective species (we'll have a lot to talk about )

Did you miss many classes because of the trip? Is your health any better?
  9. We didn't have any trouble with the locals, so there were no conflicts. Not that there was that many chances to talk with them anyway, except for the constant "sorry!" and "excuse me!" when we were trying to make our way in the crowd

I'm not sure what was your conclusion about Narnia, so I'll just say "yes, exactly" and try to look like I understood every word

We've got a choir practise tomorrow, do you reckon you'll be able to swim here by then? Or will you just sing loud enough so that I can hear you from the other side of the ocean?

I'll be interested to hear what you have to say about us Finns now that you know something more
  10. I hope you get rid of that cold soon. I'm not used to big cities either. Mine is big but not that big Did you spend all the time in the city or also visited some countryside? Did the Londoners behave nicely, or did you have to axe a few of them?

#2: I'd say Narnia is a world with a gate to ours, and also our world has gate to Narnia, which somehow means that each one exists when you leave the other, though each one keeps (apparently) existing when you are in the other.... gosh, my brains are leaking fuel already! What was I thinking when I said all that? Did I make any sense? Did you like the films? I only saw the first one, and there were parts I liked and parts I didn't. It could have been better, I feel. Not sure, mayhap I'm wrong

#3: I'm warming up my vocal chords right now... get ready... am coming

PS: I'll get to your PM soon
