  1. Controversial subjects that have nothing to do with literature have always been a problem on Lit Net... the minute I saw that a "Serious Discussion" thread opened up for just those discussions that were supposed to be against the rules I knew that was going to be the end of Lit Net. I'm willing to bet that half the people on lit net don't even discuss literature. You don't see me on the forums any more.

Just came across this post to Mutatis. Too bad you don't post more. I miss our discussion with JBI, JCamilo, Mortal Terror and Ron (the poetry guy... what was his moniker again?) on Wallace Stevens or T.S. Eliot. You are right that the great lit discussions are few and far between. I was just involved in a knock-down debate with one member who suggested that my embrace of "high art" vs pop culture was something to be denigrated as "elitist"... at a literature site, no less.
  2. Send me the link to the thread if you started. Thanks.
  3. Yes... I was thinking of the banning of Dante link. I think I'll start a thread on the issue.
  4. Is that the banning of Dante? The link doesn't work now. Yes I saw it and left the link for Aunt Shecky. It's an outrage.
  5. Accck!!! What's next? Ban the Bible, the Qur'an, the Iliad and the Odyssey, and any work of art that possibly offends anyone anywhere?

Has anyone posted a thread per this subject anywhere on LitNet?

On the subject we've been discussing, check this outrage out:

  6. Very good thank you. I was only active because Aunt Shecky drew my attention to that thread she started last year and which I was an active participate. The author of the essay she originally cited actually stopped by her thread to comment.

I do keep in touch on the blogs, by the way. You can read my latest blog on my son, the predominant subject of my life. Here it is:

Hope you are doing well. Any new paintings?
  7. Virgil... it is good to see you somewhat active once again. How are things?
  8. Merry Christmas St. Lukes. We haven't spoken in a while. I hope you have a special holiday.

Here's a present and a card for you.

  9. Both, but I always had work. The child takes up all my time. But it's a wonderful obligation. Well, hope you get all those paintings done! Good luck on the marketing.
  10. Tied up with work... or the child? Only one painting in the last 5 months... the longest I've spent on a single piece in quite some time... but I'm hoping to get a few done over the summer and to start marketing them toward galleries. I'll try to post sometime soon.
