  1. Tony, I will describe in length on that topic under another thread title, since A Phone reaches the end, after I deal with today's episode. I am still waiting for some of their replies tonight, to start with my letter to all translation companies in Taiwan. I am sorry, I didn't consult your opinions. Let me give you mine and his. two versions of the same text. Read them and tell me the truth, which I already knew. However I lack descriptions to better address the situation. I was rejected, and offered a better version today.
  2. One of my friends told me a few days ago that ability does count, as far as an interpretation opportunity is concerned. Is it true? I was tested of my verbal ability this morning and offered a position of proofreading. I was quite disappointed. She was really amazed by my spoken English. I thought I would be given some opportunities to interprete, but I learned soon that to proofread is what was needed now. Some of those companies told me that I do not have an opportunity to interprete for an academic meeting, because all the interpreters hired are experienced professors. What do you think? Anyway, I did amaze the woman who called me. She works for the big hall, in which conferences are being held. The problem is how I can get an opportunity if nobody is willing to try me and give me an experience?
  3. What is a Proust book? why a feather pen? Do you really mean what you said? Do you want to tell me that it is very likely that I should get such a chance, because, first of all, I do have the ability to speak like a talking book, and secondly, I have the help of my friends, my boyfriend included?
  4. Yes. Oral interpretation jobs are plentiful in the Cayman Islands. Bring a Proust book along with a feather pen.
  5. Do I have an opportunity to do oral interpretation for some literature academic meeting, where all people wear headphones, interpreters use microphones in their private rooms above all, if my friends are willing to help me with their best efforts? I do have the ability to do it, though my resume is truly meagre in its length. I've read for many years. I enjoy literature and know a great deal about literature. What do you think?
  6. Do you know how I can get an opportunity to do some fancy interpretations? I do not have a master degree now. I am looking forward to getting one next year, but I want to do interpretations now. What are some of the things I can do? Should I simply give the idea up?
  7. Thank you. What does the sentence mean? take the words out of your mouth? Does it mean sth good? Virginia Wang
