Hi Qimi. I saw you in the supermarket the other day. I was standing in front of the DVDs they were selling, and I just looked up and there you were. My first though was a surprised It's Qimi", but the I realised it was a DVD for Les Miserables. I hadn't realised where your Avatar was from. It's funny how we associate the avatars with people. I suppose it's because of the strength of our visual input. I always think of JBI with a beard and that long coat. Funny eh. Paul
Hi Qimi, Yes I'm an English teacher, but now I teach adult learners. I became a manager a couple of years ago, and so I do more admin and organisational stuff now. My son is also learning Japanese at Uni, and he too will be travelling there for a year's study. He's really enjoying the course. He's also taking Spanish, but I think he wants to do Chinese. He's definately interested in Asian languages. What do you teach Qimi? Paul
Say, are you a teacher? I didn't know that. So am I. What do you teach? I like it, but it is a time-consuming profession. I'm trying to learn Chinese, myself. Having an exchange student sounds fun and fascinating. What a tremendous experience for your daughter to have one and then to go to Japan herself. Actually, we had a lovely girl at our school last year who was from China. That's not why I decided to learn the language. That came this summer when I started taking Chinese calligraphy classes. It turns out he teaches Chinese, too, although we haven't done much of that lately. Anyway, it was fun having her, but she's gone back now. I need to email her.
Hi Qimi. I am well and the garden is a bit stuck. I'm waiting for the ground to thaw a bit so I can do a bit of digging. We're back into the term, and the work is cranking up a bit. I do enjoy it, though I don't know where the time goes. My daughter is keen on Japanese and we'll be having a student over on an exchange in March. She'll go later in the year. It should be interesting. How goes it with you and yours? Paul
Hi Qimi - thanks for requesting my friendship. I just took it as read.
What! Apparently we are not "friends!" I plan to rectify that immediately! How are you, and how does your garden grow (I know, I know it's in the middle of winter).
Thanks Qimi. A Happy New Year to you too. All the best for this year to you and yours.
...and a happy new year! Truly, I hope it's a most excellent year for you and your family. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBOYYlanm1k
Merry Christmas Qimi. I hope all's going well for you and yours. Paul
Merry Christmas, Paul!
