Virgil, I am so impressed by your writing. For one who hangs out at these forums, mostly focused on 150 year old works, you have a great sense of contemporary work and the changes in style that have become mainstream. Because you don't dwell too much on description and creating "pretty" sentences, things you write don't seem cliche or amateur. Your spare use of fluffy language shows that you really understand the goals of contemporary fiction. I'm getting ready to read, "Shop Talk" and just glimpsing at the beginning I am impressed at your ability to pick the correct style in telling this subject matter. I'll try and let you know what I think about it on that thread as soon as I can.
